January 7-11, 2026
Valencia High School’s Two N’ Four Vocal Jazz Ensemble had an unforgettable time in New Orleans at the Jazz Education Network Conference on January 7-11. Our students were selected to be a Showcase Performer, and they delivered an exciting 9-song set which was met with applause and a standing ovation. Special guests included Aubrey Johnson, who was commissioned to arrange her new song “Hope” for the group, as well as Mt. San Antonio College’s vocal jazz group directed by Dr. Jeremy Fox. Aside from performing, our students soaked up inspiration by attending various presentations and performances at the conference.
Beyond the conference, our students explored the New Orleans Jazz Museum, experienced the magic of Preservation Hall, rode a streetcar, enjoyed beignets and Creole cuisine, and took in the one-of-a-kind charm that makes New Orleans so special.
Huge thanks to everyone who helped to make this possible including the Jazz Education Network, Dr. Jeremy Fox, Mt. SAC Vocal Jazz, Aubrey Johnson, Matt Falker, Ron Suffredini, Brandon Dickert, Cassie Gonzales, and JP Dewey. Thank you also to our incredible chaperones for accompanying our students and taking such wonderful care of them throughout the trip.
