The results are in, and Valencia High School Choir is proud to celebrate several outstanding student musicians who have been recognized by DownBeat Magazine's 49th Annual Student Music Awards.
This year's honorees include:
• High School Winner – Jazz Arrangement
Jonathan McPhee – "He Won't Hold You"
• Small Vocal Jazz Ensemble – High School Division
Measure 25 (Daniel Heringer, Stevie Petree, Lucas Santos, Maddy Spencer, Maddox Espinosa, and Jonathan McPhee)
• Outstanding Soloist
Elle Michelson – "Spain" with Soundwaves Vocal Jazz Ensemble
These national honors recognize exceptional achievement in jazz performance, composition, and arranging. Congratulations to these talented students on their remarkable accomplishments. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, artistry, and dedication to musical excellence!
