February 2004

  • Choir throws its first school swing dance!

  • Students are given a rare chance to perform and sing solos with a live Jazz Combo (6 piece band).

April 2004

Fullerton Jazz Festival

  • Women's place with Excellents 

  • Vocal Jazz receives Superior and second place overall in the Novice Division.

  • Nikki Bente earns first place in Vocal Jazz Soloist competition!

  • Nicolet Helland earns third place in Vocal Jazz Soloist competition!

  • Caitlin French earns fourth place in Vocal Jazz Soloist competition!

Cal Poly Choir Festival San Luis Obispo

  • Concert Choir performs in the ACDA annual concert at The San Luis Obispo Performing Arts Center. Students also get a guest lecture and clinic workshop from Cal Poly Director of Choirs, Dr. Thomas Davies.

Choir Tour

  • 95 Choir members from Mixed, Concert, Jazz, and Women's Ensemble perform at the Heritage Festival in San Diego. 

  • Mixed, Concert, and Jazz all place with Superior Gold and are invited to the prestigious festival of Gold in New York City and Chicago.

Los Angeles Master Chorale High School Festival

Concert Choir performs in the Los Angeles Walt Disney Hall, conducted by the Los Angeles Choral Director, Dr. Grant Gershon

May 2004

Disneyland Choir Festival - Music in the Parks

  • Jazz, Women's, & Men's Ensemble compete.

  • Women's Ensemble receives straight Superiors, Men's receives third place.

  • Jazz receives first place Superiors and wins highest honor!

  • 1st place out of ALL performing choirs. (highest ranking score)

Santa Clarita City Chamber of Commerce gives a grant to Valencia High Music Program in the amount of $1000 to begin after-school all-student Jazz Combo. The Jazz Combo will be lead by artist in residence, Dave Kelly.

Selling programs ads for our fall, winter, and spring programs is a great way for students to fundraise.  80% of all money collected is credited to the student's individual account.  For more information go to our Program Ads page under Fundraising.
